Speaking at the closing ceremony of East African Community Students’ debate competition yesterday, Mr Mulama Patrice, Senior Analyst Officer, Peace and Security in EAC,  said that the entire East African delegation was amazed by the way they were received and treated during their stay at Kigali Independent University ULK.

“I’ve been to many places in the world but this is my first time to enjoy such hospitality. My fellows and I have been enjoying nice food, drink and care ever since we arrived here”, he proudly said.

“Moreover, we were privileged to have used the university’s state-of-the-art infrastructure which enabled us to successfully have a nice debate competition”, he added.

Speaking at the function, Hon. Njoroge Charles, EAC Deputy Secretary General in charge of Political Federation, expressed his gratitude to the management of the university and put it that the university made their stay comfortable.

To put their words of gratitude into practice, they handed a certificate of appreciation to the Founder and President of Kigali Independent University ULK, Prof. Dr. RWIGAMBA Balinda, so as to recognize the unquestionable host and wonderful stay enjoyed and that made the debate a success.

In his closing remarks, Prof. Dr. RWIGAMBA Balinda, Founder and President of Kigali Independent University ULK, commended East African Community for organizing such platforms through which young people exchange views on what can speed up the integration process of the entire bloc. He also requested the youth, especially those crowned EAC ambassadors, to be true ambassadors who strive for making a difference by being people of integrity.

The event climaxed in handing certificates to different people like those crowned youth ambassadors, their deputies, best debaters, to mention but a few.
