TRAINING ON THE USAGE OF DIGITAL LIBRARY

Following the partnership of ULK and Swedish School of Library and Information System, both universities have mingled whereby today ULK digital library stores collections of electronic resources at its students and staff disposal. Evidently, the next step was to train both the staff and students how to handle the treasure in their hands. The first training was intended to train the teaching staff and librarians and it took place at ULK on the 10th January 2012 with Mr. BIZIMANA MUHEBERA -the Coordinator the project of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency for higher learning Institutions’ libraries- as the trainer.

The training was centered on the tips of tracking latest and substantial scientific articles, journals and text books through HINARI and INASP. The trainees got to discover different ways of accessing and downloading electronic resources. Developing skill of in the usage of the digital library will help them to better serve as teachers and researchers, hence better contribute to the development of the country.
