ULK Digital Library to connect with Swedish School of Library and Information System

At any stage of university studies, reading and research are very essential similar to the two sides of a coin and they should always be associated to train students who will be able to cope with competitive world from their built proactive and innovative spirits. This is the reason why, Kigali independent is initiating its digital library which will store electronic resources as reading and research collections at students and staff disposal. The digital resources will be accessed via computer networks.

In the same context, ULK hosted delegates from Swedish School of Library and Information System, Prof. Elana Maceviciute and the Director of Libraries at National University of Rwanda Mr. BIZIMANA MUHEBERA who coordinate the project of the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency for Supporting Higher Learning institution libraries.

The team was welcomed by the Rector Dr. SEKIBIBI EZECHIEL, the Vice Rector of Research and Post Graduate Studies Dr. Kasai NDAHIRIWE as well as the Director of Research and Post Graduate Studies Mr. Gaston Niyikiza. The conversation held between guests and ULK authorities centered on mutual collaboration and partnership with the focus on access to e-resources, training of ULK digital library staff and training of ULK students/researchers as users of the digital library.

This electronic libray will enable ULK students to seize turn up at the transition from learning to read for research and to reaching to learn.
